Panther Valley school board hired Rob Kovac as girls’ basketball coach Monday night.

His annual salary will be $3,100 per year.

School board President Danny Matika said Kovac’s extensive experience coaching, including at Panther Valley, made him the right fit for the job.

“If you look at the banners in our gymnasium, his name is all over them,” Matika said.

The board interviewed three candidates for the job. Matika said they were all qualified, and it’s possible that the others could join the staff as assistants.
