Tamaqua turned into a rail center once again on Saturday as more than 1,300 riders took part in three steam excursions southbound to Drehersville, proving that, when Santa is aboard, everyone wants to hop onto the train. The event was sponsored by the Tamaqua
Historical Society in cooperation with the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad, Port Clinton. Santa and passengers rode on vintage cars pulled by a Philadelphia-built, 1928 Baldwin steam locomotive, allowing Santa's reindeer to have a day off.
