The Lehighton Water Authority has planned a water system improvement project.

Known as the Lehighton Water Authority Distribution Main Replacement, located in the borough and Mahoning Township, the project will replace existing water mains in portions of North, First, Mahoning and Ninth streets.The authority is applying for PENNVEST funds for the project, and received notice that the project appears to be eligible for a categorical exclusion from the State Environmental Review Process.The authority doesn't anticipate significant impact on user fees as a result of the project.Supporting documents are available for review at the Lehighton Municipal Building, 1 Constitution Ave. Lehighton.Public comments regarding this public notification and project should be submitted in writing within 30 days of publication to Gannett Fleming, P.O.
