A Carbon County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred at 3:43 a.m. on March 20.

State police at Hazleton said troopers responded to Berwick Street in Beaver Meadows for a report of a person struck by a vehicle.

An investigation revealed that during an argument Tyler Herling, 21, of Beaver Meadows, climbed on top of the victim, a 24-year-old woman from Hazleton, and struck her in the face multiple times with both an open hand and closed fist. The victim was eventually able to flee from the scene with Herling chasing her. As the victim drove away Herling grabbed onto the door handle of her vehicle and was dragged behind the vehicle until he lost his grip and fell to the road.

Herling was charged with simple assault and related offenses.
