Veteran forest fire wardens in Carbon County were honored Wednesday night during a training session conducted in the auditorium of the Carbon County Vocational-Technical School, Jim Thorpe.

Nevin F. Slusser of Cressona, district forester, assisted by Michael Mazur, Hometown, the area’s forest fire inspector, made the presentations.

Among those recognized were W. Righter Reabold, Jim Thorpe, who served in Mazur’s role before his retirement last year after completing 50 years of service as a warden; Reuben Hill, Franklin Township, 40 years of service; and Culver Reabold, Summit Hill, 35 years of service.
