Christmas concert held at Panther Valley

The Panther Valley music department held its Christmas concert on Dec. 17 in the high school auditorium.

The high school opened the program with handbells playing "Processional" on "Good King Wenceslas" and "Echo Carol."The brass choir then played "Gloria." The full band performed "Bobsled Run" and "Two Christmas Nights."Students who had previously participated in County Chorus performed a medley of songs called "It's The Holiday Season," followed by the full band performing "Runaway Sleigh" and Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride."The high school band is directed by Mark Christ.The middle school band, directed by Joseph Ogozalek, performed "Welcome Christmas," "Sleigh Ride," "Baby It's Cold Outside," "Nutin' for Christmas," "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" and "We Wish You A Rockin' Christmas."The elementary band, directed by Karen Grebousky, closed the program with "Good King Wenceslas," "Jolly Old St. Nicholas," "Jingle Bells," "My Dreydl," "Christmas Fun," "The Little Drummer Boy," "Silent Night," "First Christmas March." the Elementary Ensemble performed "Silent Night" and "Good King Wenceslas."On Dec. 23 some members of the high school band performed for the residents on St. Luke's Hospital fifth-floor skilled nursing unit.The band boosters purchased poinsettias as stage decorations, which were then delivered to the fifth floor.
