The Marian High School boys' basketball program was found to be in violation of the PIAA bylaws by sending athletic packages to students from other schools.

John Wabby, District 11 chairman, notified the school and PIAA Executive Director Brad Cashman the committee found Marian violated the bylaws that state, in part, "The coach should not solicit players from other schools."As a result of the finding, Marian's entire athletic program was placed on probation for one year and the boys' basketball team had to forfeit all championship rights for the 95-96 school year, making it ineligible to participate in district and inter-district competition.
