Cookie time

Nothing says loving better like a molasses tongue cookie just in time for Valentine’s Day. To place your order, call Lynn at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Palmerton. Call 610-826-2524 to place your order by Feb. 5. Pickup will be Feb. 10 from noon to 6 p.m. at the church at 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.

Food pantry

The CACPAC sponsored Palmerton Area Food Pantry will be held on Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2925 Fireline Road, Palmerton from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the instructions given by the volunteers. There is no need to preregister, however you must be a resident of the Palmerton Area School District. If you are unable to attend, someone else may pick up for you.

The food pantry is always in need of food and personal care items. Donations may be dropped off at 459 Lafayette Ave. or 1002 Third St., Palmerton. Boxes will be on the porches for the donations. Also, local churches collect on a regular basis.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 9 a.m. is a traditional service and 10:30 a.m. is a contemporary service. Four options of worship remain the same. You may worship in the sanctuary or in Leah’s Room (masks required) or in the parking lot with audio at FM 104.3 or online through Facebook Live. In the event of inclement weather, the delays or cancellations will appear on Channel 69 News WFMZ.

Prayer and Praise is held Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. and the Men’s Small Group Bible Study meets Thursday nights at 7 p.m.

There is a New Adult Discovery 101 Class. It is a three-hour membership class. Contact the pastor if interested in attending.

The Mission for January is Child Evangelism Fellowship of Carbon-Lehigh Counties. CEF is devoted to reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the year.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, continues to hold worship on Sunday Mornings at 10:15 a.m. The church will be open with seating limitations. If you wish to attend the service, please call the church at 610-826-2524. If you are unable to attend in person you may join on Zoom. The annual meeting will be held this Sunday after the morning service. Please plan to attend either in person or on Zoom.

Bible study is held on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Masks and social distancing are required.

Palmerton council

A regular meeting of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 28 in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

Thrift Shop

The Holy Trinity Thrift Shop at 502 Lafayette Ave., will be open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. They have a selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes as well as housewares, books and much more.

Collecting winter outerwear

Kids for the community are collecting new or gently used coats, gloves and hats for the remainder of the winter. If you have any of these items you wish to donate they can be dropped off at 630 Franklin Ave., Palmerton. They have the giveaway on Sunday mornings in the Borough Park from 10 a.m. to noon.

Kids for the Community

On Jan. 27 at 6 p.m., at the Palmerton Ambulance Building, Kids for the Community will be having another card creation night. All kids are welcome to join the group and help out. The will be creating cards to send to LVHN patients for Valentine’s Day or get well. They will also be creating cards for the project Blue Ridge has going to the military.
