The Slatington Borough Police Department is getting ready for its close-up.

Police Chief David Rachman told borough council a program to outfit officers with body cameras is in the works."We already have the software, which is the most expensive part," he said.All that is missing is the hardware for the devices.Rachman said a call placed to the District Attorney's office gave the program the go-ahead with the condition that a borough policy be put in place before officers begin wearing the technology."I'll bring it to the board when it's ready," Rachman said. "It'll help with our accountability."
