County commissioners on Wednesday approved new monitoring equipment service contracts for the Adult Probation Department.Vigilnet America will provide Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM) and radio frequency electronic monitoring services for one year at a price of $9.85 per day per offender for equipment lease, monitoring and all related components and services associated with SCRAMX units, and $6.50 per day per offender for equipment lease, monitoring and all related components and services associated with mobile breath alcohol monitoring effective Aug. 8 to Aug. 12, 2015.The department will also enter into a service agreement with Alere Toxicology for three-panel urine drug screen/rescreen testing at a rate of $5.75; six-panel urine drug screen/rescreen at a rate of $6.25; eight-panel urine drug screen/rescreen testing at a rate of $6.75; urine gas chromatography-mass spectrometry confirmation per drug class on previously screened laboratory specimen at a rate of $15; urine gas chromatography/mass spectrometry confirmation per drug class on test for an instant on-site device at a rate of $25; intercept collection swab by Orasure (must be ordered in lots of 25) $3 each plus shipping; four-panel oral drug screen/rescreen at a rate of $6.40; oral gas chromatography/mass spectrometry confirmation per drug class at a rate of $30; designer stimulant testing (bath salts) at a rate of $60; synthetic cannabinoids testing (k2-spice) at a rate of $50; reject charge at a rate of $6 effective Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2015.Commissioners also approved a SecureAlert trial use agreement for radar system technology for a demonstration for new electronic equipment at no charge for 60 days effective from the date of the signed agreement.
