Green seeks Carbon commissioner seat

Brent M. Green is seeking the Democratic nomination for Carbon County commissioner.

Green currently is the chairman of the Lower Towamensing Township board of supervisors, a position he has held for the past three years. Green has served on the Lower Towamensing Township Recreation Board since 2009.He is active in the Carbon County Association of Township Supervisors and held the position of president in 2014.Green is a graduate of Lehigh Carbon Community College and currently attends Kutztown University, majoring in criminal justice with a minor in public administration. Green works as a laborer at Vic's Time Sheet Metal Fabricators in Palmerton.Green achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2011 after building the playground at the Stoney Ridge

P.A.R.C. in Palmerton.Green serves as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 20, where he prides helping youth achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.Green is proud of the many accomplishments he has achieved to better his community as a supervisor.Green has voted to hold the line on taxes by not increasing the general fund tax in the past four years.Additionally, the township has been able to provide a senior discount on its garbage bills, hold electronic waste recycling events, and adopt new Zoning and Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances.Green's goal is to make Carbon County more financially accountable to the taxpayers, while being fiscally responsible and efficient in providing services.He believes in expanding and building partnerships to better the quality of life in Carbon County.Our county deserves an individual who is dedicated and ambitious in making Carbon County a better place for its residents, businesses and visitors.His experience in local government makes him a leader prepared to handle tough decisions.Being an Eagle Scout has made him an honest leader.As a county resident he cares about our community, senior citizens and hardworking taxpayers.
