Fire companies from West Penn in Schuylkill and Mahoning Valley in Carbon county battled a brush fire Saturday morning in West Penn Township. The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. at 100 Pond Road, north of Pine Hill road. The first on scene to battle the flames were the West Penn police and members of a passing Lehighton paramedic unit.
