An elderly Schuylkill County woman is the victim of a phone scam that cost her over $6,000.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a 79-year-old woman from Tower City, reported on Oct. 16 that she received a phone call allegedly from her Apple accounts stating they were compromised from an unidentified male actor. The woman followed the request of the caller providing her personal information. The victim’s bank account was then hacked and she lost $6,386, troopers said.
