Girl Scout Service Unit

Girl Scout Service Unit 309 will have a leader and adult recruitment tea at 7 p.m. April 29 at Christ Lutheran Church, Church Road in Jim Thorpe. All adults/parents who may be interested in scouting may attend. United Way volunteers will also be attending. There will be light refreshments following the meeting.Easter Glow "Bloom" TeaAn Easter Glow Tea will be held at 11 a.m. April 25 in the fellowship hall of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. Nancy Rinker will present a program on her mission trip to the Women's Conference in Haiti last year. The women of Haiti were treated with scarves, floral hair clips, assorted beauty items and a hot meal. Rinker will be heading to the Dominican Republic villages soon. Those planning to attend the tea are asked to donate a brightly colored lightweight scarf. Those who were chosen to make Easter bunny cakes are reminded that they will be judged that day.Members of the 1967 and 1969 graduating classes of Jim Thorpe High School will hold a breakfast get together at 10 a.m. Monday. The members, former members and spouses will gather at the Boulevard Restaurant, Route 443 in Lehighton.
