A fast moving fire destroyed a home Monday

night in West Mahanoy Township. The fire was reported shortly after 10 p.m. at a home in the 1100 block of West Center street just west of Shenandoah.

When firefighters from numerous communities arrived on scene they found the two-story single family wood frame dwelling fully involved in flames.

Due to the remote location of the site water had to be tanked into the scene.
