As part of Catholic Schools Week, the families at Our Lady of the Angels Academy participated in two community outreach projects.
Students in preschool through third grade participated in the Toasty Toes and Treats project where families donated socks, toiletries and snacks. Students then stuffed the socks with the goodies.Over 300 pairs of socks were able to be stuffed. The treats will be delivered to the Family Promise homeless shelter in Lehighton to be distributed as needed.Students in fourth through eighth grade participated in the Sole Hope Project, which aids people in Africa who are affected by painful jigger infestations.The children participated by donating medical supplies as well as books and crayons for the waiting rooms in children's hospitals. All of these supplies will be donated to Africa through the Sole Hope Project.
