Carbon County commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners on Thursday acted on the following items:

• Approved an agreement with St. Luke’s Physicians Group Inc. for medical director services required by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International Inc. under the Statewide Interconnectivity Grant. There is no cost to the county for services with Dr. Adam Colombo of St. Luke’s.

Communications Center director Gary Williams said the agreement is part of new guidelines that were put in place for the 911 operations.

• Approved a proposal with A&W Plumbing of Nesquehoning for the installation of four split units in various courthouse offices in the amount of $12,800.

• Approved an amendment to the agreement with Hanover Engineering of Allentown for professional services relating to construction bidding and trailhead design/landscaping for the connector trail through the county’s main parking lot. The cost is $23,082.76.

• Ratified a memorandum of agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of State to participate in the program under their agreement with the Center for Internet Security Inc. CIS will provide round-the-clock networking monitoring, dissemination of cyber threat warnings, vulnerability identification and mitigation recommendations. There is no cost for two years.

• The commissioners will hold budget hearings next week in preparation of the upcoming budget. The hearings will also be livestreamed on Facebook. Hearings will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. on Friday. Anyone wishing to ask a question regarding the budget planning can do so by sending the commissioners and email.
