Certificates of Merit were presented to 25 Marian High School seniors and 3 juniors who scored 600 or above in one or more parts of the SAT tests during the past year. The certificates were presented by Marian Principal Sister Bernard Agnes IHM and Teresa Sheer, director of studies.
Scoring above 600 in all three sections of the test math, reading and writing were Megan Fatula, Matt Karnish, Shannon Kelly, Rachel Meier, Donald Viania, Faith Befano and Josiah Fedorshak, who had a perfect score in reading.Scoring high in the math portion of the test were Nico Agosti, Josh Ambruch, Michael Nicholson, Emily Pilla, Chris Weber, Alex Stroia and Dante Salerno. High scores in reading were earned by Chris Miller, Annette Ritzko, Sierra Volkert, Harit Palta and Abbey Whildin. Taylor Horvat, Alison Walck and Lauren Nietz scored 600 or better on the writing section.James McKinley scored high in reading and math, while Christian Nonnemacher, Nicholas Sully, Sarah Bauer and Tyler Wackley and Kaitlin Kowker scored 600 or above on the reading and writing sections..The 25 senior students represent 32 percent of the 2015 graduating class.
