Tamaqua police report on recent incidents

Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:

• Jorge Fernando Urizar, 19, and Montez Antwone Gaskin, 20, both of Baltimore, Maryland; Charles O. McMillan, 19, of Philadelphia; and Emmanuel Kwabena Obeng, 19, of Greentown, Pike County, are all facing charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on Sept. 19, at 2:28 a.m. in the area of Pine and Mauch Chunk streets.

Police made a vehicle stop at that location and officers detected the odor of burned marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. When everyone in the vehicle got out, police found the drugs.

• Derek Michael Beller, 20, of Hunter Street, Tamaqua, is facing charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and the summary offense of speeding, for an incident on Sept. 4 at 11:40 a.m.

Police said they observed a vehicle traveling west on East Broad Street at 40 mph in a 25 mph zone and made a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the driver, Beller, officers detected to odor of burned marijuana. A search of the vehicle police found a metal grinder with suspected marijuana residue, a marijuana cigarette and near the driver seat a partially smoked suspected marijuana cigarette.

• James Luke Gommer, 22, of Crum Lynne, Delaware County, was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident on Sept. 5 at 1:25 a.m. along South Greenwood Street. Police responded to a report of a fight ordered everyone to the ground but two or three did not comply and ran inside the Hang Loose bar. Police chased them and took Gommer into custody. A neighbor told police someone left the bar, walked across the street and urinated in shrubs in front of an apartment building. The neighbor confronted the person, who was identified as Gommer.

• Kietchen Eaches, 38, of Elm Street, Tamaqua, is facing charges of defiant trespass actual communication, disorderly conduct and harassment for an incident on Sept. 19 at 8:10 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Elm Street, for an unwanted person report. On scene the property owner said there was a birthday party on his back deck and Eaches attempted to enter the yard but was told him to leave and he did. The resident said it was not the first time Eaches had trespassed on his property. A review of police records showed Eaches was involved in at least seven other incidents in the area.

• Victor Molina, 30, of Catasauqua, was charged with harassment for an incident on Sept. 24 at 1:15 a.m.

Police were called to the 200 block of Bowe Street for a suspicious person who put a “perverted” note on a vehicle. On scene police found Molina parked in a vehicle. Police later spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who said they didn’t know Molina but found the note. Police then spoke to Molina a second time and he admitted placing the note on the vehicle.

• Valerie K. Nattress, 40, of the 200 block of Cedar Street, Tamaqua, has been charged with trespassing on real property for an incident on Sept. 14.?Police said they received information from a representative of the Tamaqua Library, South Railroad Street, that Nattress was previously told, in 2015, she could not be on the library property. Nattress was found to be on the property and was cited.

• Justin Eric McArdle, 33, of the 100 block of Schuylkill Avenue, Tamaqua, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for an incident on Sept. 20 at 4:50 p.m.

Police on patrol along Schuylkill Avenue observed McArdle operating a Volkswagen Passat. Police had knowledge that McArdle’s license was suspended - DUI related. He parked the vehicle in front of his residence and was confronted by police.

A check revealed there was a warrant for his arrest. He admitted having a syringe and a pouch on the driver’s seat. Inside the pouch was found two more syringes, a clear orange bag with methamphetamine, a spoon, a clear blue bag with methamphetamine and two more clear empty baggies.

He was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the county prison in Pottsville.
