Walnutport Borough Council, on a 6-0 vote with Councilwoman Patrice Hunsicker absent, recently took the following action:

• Agreed to grant borough engineer Jason Newhard permission to get the specifications and begin the bid process for the borough maintenance building roof repair project at 100 Carbon St.

• Agreed to spend $808 to replace a portable radio for a borough police officer.

• Granted Sgt. Jason Nothstein’s request for education in the amount of $600.

• Agreed to start the process to ordain Spadt Alley.

• Announced that trick or treat will be held in the borough from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28 using Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
