Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Agreed to advertise to accept bids for fire station No. 1 roof replacement.
• Approved payment request of $30,003 and change order for the Lehighton Area Memorial Library Project.
• Approved the reclassification of Ren Wentz to Lineman 1, effective Nov. 9.
• Appointed Harold Henry to the borough’s zoning hearing board.
• Announced that the scope of work for the Community Development Block Grant project for Iron Street has been changed to take away a few handicapped ramps. The project is Iron Street, from Fourth to Sixth street. Bids for the project will be opened Nov. 5.
• Approved a request from Tim Snyder of TNT Auto Repairs to close South Seventh Street from Iron to Alum streets as part of his open house Oct. 17 for a Car Show/Cruise.
• Denied a request from a Weissport resident seeking to trap on borough property.
