Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action on Tuesday:
• Approved payment No. 6 for $85,131 to Ankiewicz for the Lime Street connection project.
• Announced that the borough received the 2020 Commonwealth State Aid allocation supporting the volunteer fire relief association in the amount of $4,314.
• Adopted the Carbon County Agreement for the COVID-19 County Relief Block Grant.
• Announced that a vacancy still exists on the borough’s planning commission. Anyone interested in serving should submit a letter of interest to the borough office.
• Approved a request from Amanda Kroening, Carbon County Domestic Violence Advocate, for permission to hand out sidewalk chalk to the community asking them to write inspirational messages on sidewalks every Wednesday for a Chalk Walk Wednesday supporting domestic violence victims in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
• Announced that a budget meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
• Announced that trunk or treat will be held from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 31 in front of the borough fire station at Lime Street between Ore and Hamilton streets.
