Penn Forest approves new building

The Penn Forest Township Supervisors have approved a project in the commercial district along Route 903.

The supervisors voted to approve, with conditions, a land development plan submitted by Joseph Laschenski.

Laschenski has proposed a 7,500-square-foot building including a contractor’s office with storage and an apartment. The property is located across Route 903 from 903 Landscape Supply.

Conditions for the approval include a stormwater management agreement, and proof of a highway occupancy permit from PennDOT.

Other matters

• The supervisors approved allocating $32,610 each in volunteer fire relief association funds to Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Co. #1 and Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Co. #2.

• The supervisors approved a $9,121.60 contract with H & K Group for shoulder work along Stony Creek Road and a $9.900 contract with Shiffer Bituminous for paving work along Forest Street.

• The supervisors voted to authorize the township solicitor to file legal action against five property owners who have not responded to zoning enforcement notices.
