A Schuylkill County man is facing drug charges after police executed a search warrant on his residence.
State police at Frackville said at 6:03 a.m. on Sept. 23 troopers from the barracks, along with special emergency response team members, Troop L Reading vice/narcotic unit members and members of the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force served a warrant at a Broad Street residence, in Fountain Springs, Butler Township, just outside Ashland.
Items of contraband were subsequently seized from the home, including, but not limited to, about 100 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $7,000; about $1,300 in cash; and items of drug paraphernalia used in packaging, repackaging and weighing of controlled substances.
A secondary search warrant was also served at a residence in Columbia County. The results of that search warrant were the seizure of five guns: an AR-15 rifle, a SKS 7.62 x 39mm and three additional long guns.
Troopers added on Jan. 1 they, along with members of the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s office, served a search and seizure warrant at the same Fountain Springs address. As a result of that search, Mylan A. Martin, 45, of that address, was charged with violations of the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act including: two felony counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine and fentanyl), a firearms charge, receiving stolen property, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Wednesday Martin was arraigned before District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah, on new drug charges. Bail was sent at $50,000 straight cash which Martin could not post. He was committed to the county prison in Pottsville. Troopers said additional charges are pending against Martin.
