Alexis Merkle is the February Girl of the Month for the Slatington Women's Club.

A senior at Northern Lehigh High School, she is the daughter of Adam and Tracie Merkle of Slatington. She has a sister, Abigail.Her school activities include varsity soccer, varsity track and field, student council representative and SADD.Honors received include the American Citizenship Award, Colonial League and All Area Honorable Mention for the 2014 soccer season, three-year varsity soccer captain.Other interests include volunteering at Forgotten Felines and Fidos and spending time with family and friends.Her future plans include attending a four-year college to pursue a career in nursing.
