Thorpe man facing theft charges

A Jim Thorpe man is facing theft counts following an incident in his hometown.

Jim Thorpe police said on Thursday, June 7, about 3:05 p.m. they were informed by American Legion officials that William Edward Daniels, 49, of 300 Center Ave., Apt. 8B, a former employee, had made an unauthorized purchase at the Jim Thorpe Market, on May 28.Police were informed that Daniels was terminated on May 12.On June 14, Daniels was interviewed and admitted purchasing $36.53 worth of groceries from the market.Daniels has been charged with misdemeanor three counts of theft by deception and receiving stolen property, and a summary charge of disorderly conduct.
