Carbon County Guilty Pleas

Defendants in pending cases entered guilty pleas before Judge Steven R. Serfass:

Crystal Ann Weber, 35, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty in two pending cases to one count each of access device fraud and retail theft.She was charged with the first count by Lehighton police. She stole a credit cardand used it at a store in the borough. The incident occurred on Feb. 11, 2015. The theft count stems from a incident at the Wine & Spirits store in Jim Thorpe where she stole a bottle of liquor.Weber is currently an inmate in the county prison. Sentencing was deferred.Tia Jo Dematteo, 30, of Pottstown, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property.She was arrested on Sept. 6, 2013 by Jim Thorpe police for her part in the entry of a home along Lentz Trail, which was not occupied at the time. There is a co-defendant in the case.Serfass sentenced her to time-served (six days) to 18 months and to make restitution of $480, which is one-half the total due.Mark Daniel Geary,35, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arrested on Nov. 3, 2015, along Keystone Lane by Lehighton police following a vehicle stop. He was found to have 11 bags of heroin and was a passenger in the vehicle.Serfass placed him on probation for a year ordered him to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, and render 50 hours of community service.Randy Joseph Gable,35, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count each of forgery, criminal trespass and theft.He was charged in connection with a burglary on March 26 at the residence of Dennis Santee, 8 Cornell Ave., Lower Towamensing Township. State police charged he took three checks of the victim and forged her name and attempted to cash them.Sentencing was deferred.Sheila Renee Lollis,48, of Syracuse, New York, formerly of Mount Pocono, pleaded to one count of unauthorized use of a automobile.She was charged by state police at Lehighton with taking the vehicle of Donald Wilson III without his permission. Lollis told the court that she and Wilson once had a relationship but it ended and she had his vehicle but admitted not returning it when he told her to.Sentencing was deferred.Those sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
