No charges will be filed against a Jim Thorpe boy who triggered an Amber Alert and a massive search involving dogs and a helicopter Monday after hiding in the woods for 12 hours.
Mason Pachulski, 12, went missing between 7:10 and 7:30 a.m. after going out into the yard of his Center Avenue home to feed his fish. His frantic mother called 911, and the search ensued.Later in the day, someone reported seeing Mason in the woods near 99 Center Ave., a couple of blocks from his home. Police went to check out the sighting and found Mason.Television news cameras showed the boy, his mother, Georgann Pachulski, right behind him, apologizing after he was found.Emergency medical crews examined Mason and found him unharmed.Borough Police Chief Joseph Schatz said early Tuesday he gave police no reason for his actions.
