Rush Township Police are investigating a theft, and subsequent forgery, that took place at 190 Lincoln Dr., Hometown. Joseph B. Franz, 25, of Tamaqua, allegedly removed several checks from the residence, then forged the owner's name and cashed the checks.

Charges are pending.
