Wednesday update: 570 positives bring statewide total to 126,149

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight that there are 570 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 126,149. There are 7,523 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 24 new deaths reported.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 20,458 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,298 cases among employees, for a total of 24,756 at 901 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,104 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 9,074 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County is reporting two new cases for a total of 408 cases. There are 28 deaths.

Lehigh County had eight new cases for a total of 5,093, with 341 deaths.

There were 3,645 cases in Luzerne County, an increase of 12, with 185 deaths.

Monroe County was reporting one more case, bringing the total to 1,671 cases and 125 deaths.

Northampton had 4,022 cases, an increase of eight cases. There are 296 deaths.

Schuylkill County reported five new cases, bringing the total to 957 cases, with 51 deaths.
