West Penn Twp. supervisors present plaque to resident

During their meeting Monday, West Penn Township supervisors recognized resident Chester Snyder, who in addition to helping run a sales, service and parts agricultural supply business called Charles S. Snyder, helped the township run.

"For many years, he contributed equipment and time to the township," said Supervisor Jim Dean. "It would be impossible to figure out how many hours he gave to us."The supervisors presented a plaque to Snyder as the meeting began.In other business, the supervisors:• Awarded a $118,500 contract to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, Emmaus, for seal coating work on various roads.• Hired two part-time police officers, Tim Kramer and Denna Krammes.• Fielded a request from Tom Lesisko, Archery Club Road, asking that supervisors paint lines on the road to improve visibility. The supervisors said they would look into it.Lesisko also complained about a property near his residence which has high weeds.Another resident complained about a property on Rabbit Road, also with high weeds and other debris.The supervisors said they would direct their code enforcement officer to check on the complaints.
