State police at Fern Ridge — crashes
State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes being investigated recently.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 3:45 p.m. on June 27 along Pheasant Run Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.
Troopers said Joseph Falcone, 44, of Effort, was driving a 2009 Ford Edge westbound when his vehicle veered toward the outside of a right hand curve shortly after a rainstorm. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a utility pole, re-entered the road, and then onto the right shoulder.
Falcone had a witness transport him to his home. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed.
Falcone was cited for not having a valid license.
• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 8:27 p.m. on July 1 along Route 534 at the intersection with Mountain Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.
Troopers said Makayla R. Davison, 18, of Albrightsville, was stopped on Mountain Road driving a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, attempting to go south on 534. She pulled forward into the northbound lane striking a 2012 BMW X5 driven by Colin C. Okie, 26, of Tobyhanna.
Davison and Okie were not injured. Passenger Terrence T. Quith, 27, of Tobyhanna, sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg, by Lehighton ambulance.
Both vehicles were towed. Davison was cited for vehicle entering or crossing a highway.
• A two-vehicle crash was reported on July 3 at 4:24 p.m. along at Martin Lane and Jonas Road, in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said Richard Zebrowski, 59, of Kew Gardens Hills, New York, was attempting to merge from Martin Lane onto Jonas Road. As Zebrowski was stopped at the intersection his 2019 Subaru Crosstrek was struck by a 2013 Toyota Venza driven by Justin R. Hudson, 19, of Effort. No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Hudson was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
• A crash was reported at 3:14 p.m. on July 5 along Route 209 at the intersection with Rodenbach Lane, in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said Alisha Prince, 24, of Brodheadsville, driving a 2010 Nissan Altima, was attempting to cross the roadway from Rodenbach Lane, when it struck a 2003 Honda Accord driven southbound by Teresita M. Rojas, 36, of Manville, New Jersey.
Prince was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital - Monroe Campus, by West End ambulance. Rojas and her three passengers were not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Prince was cited for driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
• Another crash was reported on July 5 at 7:08 p.m. along Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said Frank J. Spalletta, 20, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2014 Dodge Dart northbound and approaching a bridge when his vehicle struck guide rails at the entrance to the bridge.
Spalletta was not injured but the Dodge had to be towed.
