The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight that there are 962 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 104,358.
Allegheny is reporting an increase of 147 cases, and Philadelphia is reporting an increase of 311 cases. Since there was no data reported from Philadelphia yesterday, the number of new cases is a culmination of cases from the past two days.
The number of tests administered within the last seven days between July 16 and July 22 is 147,837 with 5,731 positive cases. There were 19,626 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., July 22. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 7,079 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 16 new deaths reported.
Carbon County reported one new case, bringing the total to 336 positives. There are still 28 deaths.
Lehigh County has 4,609 cases, an increase of nine. Deaths remain at 334 deaths.
In Luzerne County, six new cases have been reported for a total of 3,091. There are 183 deaths.
In Monroe County, two new cases bring the total to 1,536. There are 120 deaths.
In Northampton County, 17 new cases are reported for a total of 3,686. There are 288 deaths.
In Schuylkill County, two new cases are reported bringing the total to 830. Deaths remain at 49.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 18,892 resident cases of COVID-19, and 3,707 cases among employees, for a total of 22,599 at 804 distinct facilities in 60 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,829 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
Approximately 7,752 of the total cases are in health care workers.
