Mother, daughter cited in fight

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks cited a 56-year-old woman and her 32-year-old daughter, both from Albrightsville, following a domestic incident at 6:58 p.m. June 26 when they responded to a residence along Patten Circle in Penn Forest Township.

Police said the mother reported she and her daughter became engaged in a physical altercation over laundry. She said her daughter ripped her clothes and struck her with a wooden stick that caused her to be scratched and bruised. Police said the mother appeared to be highly intoxicated and became very irate and aggressive and began yelling at troopers.

Police said a witness in the residence said the mother was the one with the stick and the daughter was just trying to leave the situation due to the mother being intoxicated.

As a result of the incident, police charged with mother with harassment and disorderly conduct and the daughter for harassment. Their names have not been released.
