Women of the ELCA

Trinity Lutheran Church will host the 27th annual convention of the NEPA Synod of the Women of the ELCA on Saturday. "Molded by the Master" is the theme for the day when women from nine districts will gather for inspiration and learning. Workshops on the theme and elections of board members will take place. Gathering and registration begins at 8 a.m. for the one-day event.Trinity happeningsSunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 9:30 a.m. Music will be provided by the Trinity Praise Band. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship is at 10:30 a.m.Vicar Lauren Heywood begins her year of ministerial service at the congregationSunday. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and enrolled at the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. A meet-and-greet brunch in her honor will take place next week.Trinity's Community Vacation Bible School "Cave Quest" is July 11-15, for children age 3 through grade six. The daily schedule is 6:30-8:30 p.m. The sessions are aimed to assist children to follow their faith by exploring who Jesus is: the light of the world.
