A Schuylkill County woman is charged with theft after picking up a purse someone left behind.

State police at Hazleton said Laura Rose, 40, of Port Carbon, is facing a charge of theft of lost/mislaid property following an incident at the Walmart store located along Airport Road in Hazle Township.

Troopers said a 60-year-old woman from Mahanoy City, left a purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot of the store on May 20 about 10:05 a.m. and Rose found it. She was later found with the contents of the purse, troopers said.
