Historical societyThe Nesquehoning Historical Society's annual picnic will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday,at the Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1's outdoor grove, 953 E. Catawissa St.All members of the society are encouraged to bring a snack to share.This party is for society members. Anyone who wishes to attend and is not yet a member can become one the day of the event by paying the annual $5 membership.Neighborhood WatchThere will be no meetings of the Nesquehoning Neighborhood Watch during the summer months.The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the borough hall.Summit HillLudlow Park 5KThe Panther Valley Running and Fitness Club will host its second annual Ludlow Park 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. on July 9.
