Carbon businesses pass the test

Readers of this paper often read the names of people arrested or cited after police investigations.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, has released the names of businesses they found to be compliant with the state liquor laws after investigations conducted on Friday.Police said BLCE officers assigned to the Wilkes-Barre District Office supervised an underage buyer between 4 p.m. and midnight Friday to conduct age compliance checks in Carbon County. A total of six checks were conducted at establishments licenses by the PLCB, of which zero were found to be in noncompliance. Noncompliance is defined as a licensed establishment that sold alcoholic beverages to underage people trained by the PSP-BLCE.The six businesses that successfully passed the surprise investigations are Carbon Beverage, Weatherly; All Star Beer, Summit Hill; Lengyel's Restaurant, Nesquehoning; Antonio's Pizzeria, Jim Thorpe; Ruth Ann Recica, t/a Cousins II, Mahoning Township; and

S.A.E. Inc., trading as Rooster's Boatyard, Franklin Township.
