State police at Frackville are investigating a fraud incident.

Troopers said a 68-year-old man from Brockton reported in the past month he had gotten pop-up messages on his computer supposedly from Microsoft Support. These messages asked him to send money, via a credit card, to pay for software fixes. The victim is out $400 due to the fraudulent message.

Troopers remind residents to be vigilant and to avoid this type of scam.
