Prothonotary report

Prothonotary Kayla M. Semmel released the statistical report of activities for her office for the month of April.

There were 501 cases started with the following breakdown: civil actions, 9; custody, 18; DJ appeals, 2; declaratory judgment, 1; divorce, 17; ejectments, 1; license appeal, 4; mortgage foreclosures, 5; protection from abuse, 20; quiet title, 1; tax sale, 2; aud/fin/reports, 1; judgments, 410; stip/waiv liens, 1; modification of custody, 5; writ of execution, 1; and miscellaneous, 3.

Due to the COVID-19 no passports were processed in April.

Total income generated was $16,356.38; prothonotary fees, $12,179.01; custody/divorce fees, $975; data processing fees, $2,532.75; interest income, $3.67; PFA surcharge sheriff, $17.95; PFA; and stenographer fees, $648.

In addition to the above fees, the office remitted to the county for the remote access fund for remote access fees of $1,800, remitted to the state department of revenue (fees collected on new cases) $2,981.48, and automation fund $694.43 - money collected for future automation and improvements to the office.
