State police at the Frackville barracks said Michael J. Yurkonis, 20, of Pottsville, will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic and failure to wear a seat belt as a result of a one-car accident at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 11 on Valley Road in Cass Township.

Police said he was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Valley Road, SR4002, when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway. The vehicle crossed the center line, at which time the operator oversteered and caused the Jeep to spin counter-clockwise 180 degrees. It continued to travel forward with the rear of the vehicle leading as it exited the west berm and struck a PPL utility pole.Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene. Yurkonis was uninjured.
