Woman who stripped during arrest pleads

A Carbon County woman, who got completely naked when police were arresting her, entered a guilty plea in the county court on Monday.

Marisol Magobet, 35, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of open lewdness for an incident on Jan. 19. In a plea bargain charges of indecent exposure, resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness were dropped.At 4:49 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of 902 Laurel Road for a report of two females fighting. On scene officers found Magobet and Elisah A. Wonsock, who was seated in the passenger side of a vehicle. Police were informed by witnesses that Magobet and Wonsock were observed fighting with each other.As police were trying to speak with Magobet, she began to take her clothes off. She was told to stop but she continued until she was completely nude. Police then escorted Magobet to their patrol car when she became combative. She refused to get into the patrol car, was handcuffed, and placed in the car by the officers.Because of Magobet's behavior she was transported to the Lehighton hospital for evaluation. En route she continued to be combative and refused to exit the patrol car at the hospital and had to be physically removed. She also caused damages to the interior of the police cruiser.Police said Wonsock told them that Magobet smoked what she thought was marijuana and became paranoid and combative. Wonsock then was attacked by Magobet. Wonsock, however, refused to press charges.Nanovic placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get both a mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and follow any recommendations for treatment, imposed zero tolerance on D&A use, ordered she pay court costs of $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation, and ordered restitution of $140 to the borough of Jim Thorpe for damages to the police cruiser.
