A Jim Thorpe man accused of sexually assaulting two children has withdrawn his guilty plea in Schuylkill County court.

President Judge William Baldwin on March 19 agreed to allow Michael Christopher Gallagher, 33, of 85 W. 13th St., to withdraw the plea. The case may now go to trial.According to testimony at a preliminary hearing in March 2013, the case stems from two series of incidents. The first incidents happened between May 1, 2009 and March 1, 2011. The second case occurred between Oct. 10, 2010, to March 2011.Gallagher was charged on May 1, 2009, with a felony charge of corruption of minors; indecent assault/forceable compulsion; indecent exposure; two counts of indecent assault without the consent of the other; and two counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old.He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail in each case.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed on Dec. 5, 2012, with District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua by Coaldale patrolman Martin Heckman, here's what happened:On March 28, 2011, a 13-year-old girl and her mother Coaldale police to report that the girl had been subjected to numerous sexual assaults by Gallagher over several years.The girl said the first incident happened at a farm in Jim Thorpe in May 2009. Gallagher had taken the girl for a ride on an all-terrain vehicle, and she sat behind him, her arms around his waist so she wouldn't fall off.At some point, the girl said, Gallagher unzipped his pants and exposed his genitals. He placed her hand on his penis, and she immediately pulled her hand away.The next series of incidents happened between May 2009 and March 1, 2011. During this time, the girl would often visit a friend who lived at Gallagher's home, then in Coaldale.On several occasions Gallagher grabbed her breasts over her clothes. Although others were in the house, she was afraid to tell anyone.The last incident also happened at Gallagher's house in Coaldale. She was walking down a second floor hallway, past Gallagher's bedroom, where he was watching television. He called to her, and when she looked, he pulled his genitals out of his pants.
