West Penn Township supervisors took the following action last week:
• Rejected the adoption of a resolution granting tax relief under Act 15, extending the discount period for real estate taxes to no later than Aug. 31, or waiving penalty for taxes paid before Dec. 31. Supervisors Timothy Houser and Glenn Hummel were opposed to adopting the resolution, while board Chairman Tony Prudenti was in favor. Houser and Hummel said they wanted to be on the same page as Schuylkill County, which also is not doing it.
• Agreed to have township solicitor Paul J. Datte advertise a section of the amended property maintenance ordinance for consideration of adoption at the board’s June 1 meeting.
• Adopted a resolution authorizing Glenn Hummel and Karen Wittig as individuals associated with the township to conduct any business and sign documents with Nationwide for the police pension.
