Franklin Township supervisors recently heard a proposal for a dialysis center to be housed inside the Keystone Harley-Davidson building in Parryville.
The dialysis center would be located in one of the showrooms inside the existing building at 770 State Road, according to owner/president Bob Eggstein.
Eggstein was accompanied by a local developer who proposed the medical facility, which if approved would be located inside one of the showrooms.
It was stated there are either two or three existing Equivalent Dwelling Units, and it was debated whether the board would allow an additional 15 or 16 more EDUs.
Board Chairman Jason Frey stressed that regardless, there would be no more than 18 EDUs in total. An EDU is a unit of measurement for water service or sewer service.
The proposal would still have to receive approval from the state Department of Environmental Protection, and an intermunicipal agreement would need to be prepared.
Township solicitor Tom Nanovic said the next step is to prepare an intermunicipal agreement.
The dialysis center would operate as a separate entity from Keystone Harley-Davidson.
