A Monroe County man is being sought following an incident in which he threatened his estranged wife with a gun and one who authorities consider "armed and dangerous."
On June 10, Terrance Jewell, 32, broke into the home of his estranged wife in the 100 block of McKinley Avenue in East Stroudsburg, armed with a semi-automatic firearm. For more than two hours, pointing the loaded firearm at his wife, Jewell threatened to kill her and a male acquaintance. Eventually she talked her estranged husband into unloading the firearm.After deleting text messages from his wife's cellphone which was evidence in a pending protection from abuse hearing, Jewell left the residence with the firearm and two fully loaded magazines.Jewell left in a taxi. His wife called 911 immediately after his departure. Nearing his residence, Jewell learned that the police were waiting for him. Jewell bailed out of the taxi and into the woods near 1320 Park Drive in East Stroudsburg.Jewell has been charged with aggravated assault, burglary, firearm not to be carried without a license, unlawful restraint, simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.Jewell is considered armed and dangerous.
