Several prominent local men were caught up in an undercover prostitution sting conducted by the Monroe County District Attorney's Office Thursday afternoon.

Donald Gower, 60, supervisor of the Gower Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. of Gilbert; Randy Cramer, 49, a member of the Cramer Brothers Band of Saylorsburg; and Andre Hylton, 33, of East Stroudsburg, an anesthesiologist provider contracted at Pocono Medical Center, along with 9 other men were charged with patronizing a prostitute in an operation spearheaded by Detective Kimberly Lippincott of the DA's office. Lippincott was assisted by members of the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, the Pocono Mountain Police Department, the Bethlehem Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.Three women were also arrested as part of the sting.The operation was set up in a Stroudsburg hotel. Undercover officers posted two ads on an "adult entertainment" website, posting as Becca and Alexis, two women advertising sex in exchange for money.The ads included a phone number linked to an undercover cellphone. Throughout the day, the cellphones received numerous calls and texts, with many of the callers making arrangements to meet one of the "girls" at the hotel.Instead of call girls, the hotel room contained two female undercover cops. Once the men discussed which sex acts they preferred and offered payment, the arrest team made its move.Other men caught in the net were: Frank Cordero Jr., 40, of Bronx, New York; Joseph Esgro, 36, of Scranton; Dalvin Harper, 23, of Mount Pocono; Gary Hunter, 53, of Hyde Park, New York;Michael Kosmoski, 61, of Macungie; Luis Latrorre, 35, of Pocono Summit; Carlos Miranda, 43, of East Stroudsburg; John Schmitt, 53, of Bangor; and Gnanasakaran Varunan, 37, of Bushkill. Each man was charged with patronizing a prostitute and disorderly conduct.Tia Fitch, 23, of Saylorsburg; Lauren Rushton, 30, of Wilkes-Barre; and Janet Croom, 46, of Staten Island, New York, had all placed ads on the same adult entertainment website and were contacted by male undercover officers. The women traveled to the hotel on Thursday and offered to trade sex acts for cash.Once they accepted payment, they were arrested and charged with prostitution and disorderly conduct.A records check discovered that Croom had 35 previous arrests for prostitution in multiple states, including Nevada, Florida, Pennsylvania and New York.Also available to offer assistance were crisis workers from the Truth Home and representatives of Monroe County Children and Youth.
