State police at Fern Ridge plan a sobriety checkpoint today through Monday, the Labor Day weekend.

The checkpoint will be somewhere within their patrol area, which is Chestnuthill and Jackson townships in Monroe County, and in Penn Forest Township in Carbon County.The checkpoint is under the state police Selective Traffic Enforcement Against Drunk Driving initiative. The program is aimed at reducing alcohol-related crashes and impaired driving.
