Over 1,200 baggies of heroin found following Carbon stop

Over 1,200 baggies of heroin were found following a vehicle stop in Carbon County which led to the arrest of four persons.

State police at Fern Ridge said a 2015 Toyota van was stopped for speeding about 8:18 p.m. on Wednesday along Interstate 80 westbound in Kidder Township. At the stop police detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle.A search of the vehicle was conducted and found were 1,250 baggies of heroin located inside a sealed laundry detergent box.The four occupants of the vehicle were then arrested.Charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and other related drug counts were Lawrence Sidney Lewis Jr., Lancaster Ave., Philadelphia; Devon Alford, Hepburn St., and Ishmil Waheed Harris, Wilson St., both of Williamsport. The fourth suspect in the vehicle was a 14-year-old male from Williamsport. He was turned over to his guardians with charges to be filed with Carbon County's juvenile probation office.The other three were lodged in the county prison in Nesquehoning, troopers said.
