Carl Kevin Christman Jr.,35, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-methamphetamine before Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika this week.

He was arrested on Dec. 10, 2014, by state police at Lehighton after he sold meth to a confidential informant at his residence in the Nis Hollow Estates trailer court in East Penn Township.Matika told Christman under state sentencing guidelines, in the standard range, he faces a prison term of nine to 16 months minimum, which could be county or state prison sentence.Sentencing was deferred so the adult probation office could prepare a presentence investigation report.Other pleasOther defendants entering pleas to drug-related counts included:Jennifer Rose Stefanick,21, of Summit Hill, and formerly of Lansford, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance-heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested on Aug. 26, 2015, when Lansford police were dispatched to the area of 304 W. Patterson St. for suspected drug use. Stefanick was found in a vehicle with heroin and also her 6-month-old daughter. A charge of endangering the welfare of a child was dropped in a plea bargain.Stefanick, who said her mother and father are raising her daughter, said she is waiting to enter an inpatient rehabilitation facility. Defense counsel, Matthew J. Mottola, of the public defender's office, said she is awaiting a bed date.He said she is currently in prison on the charge but won't be released because she needs an established residence.Matika told Stefanick, "You see what your drug addiction has done to your life."On the possession of heroin charge Matika sentenced her to serve 30 days to one year in jail with credit for 38 days already served and paroled her. On the paraphernalia charge she was placed on probation for a year consecutive to the first count.She was also ordered to render a total of 100 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.She will remain in jail until she enters the rehab and can verify a residence.Jesus Maldonado-Hernandez,30, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on May 26, 2015, along Ashtown Drive by Mahoning Township police during a vehicle stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle and was found to have a bag of prescription pills which he did not have a prescription for.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 50 hours of community service.Mirella Napolitano,49, of Mahwah, New Jersey, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Oct. 12, 2015, along East Catawissa Street by Nesquehoning police following a traffic stop for speeding.Matika placed her on probation for six months and ordered her to render 25 hours of community service.Devon William Alford,20, of Williamsport, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on April 15, 2015, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge.He was sentenced to time served (21 days) to a year in jail. He is currently an inmate in the state correctional institution at Camp Hill serving an 18- to 36-month term which runs to Feb. 2, 2017. Matika said his sentence would run concurrent to the state term.David Joseph Frantz Jr.,33, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on June 30, 2015, by state police at Lehighton in the parking lot of the McDonald's restaurant in Mahoning Township following a vehicle stop.He is currently an inmate in the Monroe County prison awaiting sentencing on other charges.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 50 hours of community service when released from custody.Ricky Allen Hunsicker Jr.,30, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Oct. 15, 2015, in the area of 48 W. Ridge St. by Lansford police.Matika imposed a fine of $100 and costs.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
